Reading with comprehension is the goal of reading instruction. To achieve this goal students need to be able to read accurately and fluently, and have a strong vocabulary and good general knowledge. Reading comprehension includes components such as inferencing, understanding of syntax, and making connections. These can be taught explicitly to help improve comprehension.

This seminar is suitable for F-6 classroom and specialist teachers, school executive, and support staff, as it examines the development and complexity of reading comprehension.
