The free SPELD SA phonemic awareness tasks have been created for the purpose of helping students develop phonological awareness skills. They are structured using the same sequence of sounds taught in Jolly Phonics and can be used as a part of a class activity, small group work or intensive remedial program. Each resource comes with an instruction sheet that gives clear and concise steps in how to use the resource, that parents, teachers and Learning Support staff can easily follow.
Reading Doctor apps and online software help beginning and struggling readers to learn phonemic awareness and phonics for reading and spelling. It is a fun, effective and scientifically based teaching tool that helps you to teach students to blend sounds into words for reading and segment words into sounds for spelling using letter-sound knowledge.
The Reading Rockets library provides teachers with effective, research-based classroom strategies to help build and strengthen literacy skills in print awareness, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing.
